The short version
PawElden is a free, reading-first education site at MVP stage. We collect a small amount of standard web data, we do not run user accounts, we do not store pet health information, and we do not sell personal information. This page explains what is collected, why, and what rights you have.
Information we collect
| Data | How it is collected | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics data — pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser type, referral source | Standard analytics services, such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console, using cookies and similar technologies | Understand which guides actually help owners, find broken pages, and keep the site fast |
| Contact data you volunteer — name, email address, message content | Contact form or direct email, only when you choose to write to us | Respond to corrections, feedback, affiliate questions, and privacy requests |
| Affiliate-link click data — which outbound links are followed | Affiliate network tracking technologies on outbound links | Attribute commissions correctly and see which recommendations are useful |
We collect no other categories of personal information at MVP stage.
Cookies
| Category | Purpose | Your control |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics cookies | Aggregate traffic measurement | Block or clear them in your browser; the site still works |
| Affiliate cookies | Retailer-side attribution after you click an outbound link | Clearing cookies removes them; the site still works |
We do not run advertising cookies and we do not build cross-site advertising profiles of our visitors.
What we do not collect
- No account system. MVP has no registration, so there are no passwords, profiles, or logins to protect.
- No pet health data stored. We do not collect or store health information about individual pets, and we do not build pet profiles.
- No data sales. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Reasonable safeguards. We use reasonable administrative and technical measures — team-only access to contact messages and standard transport encryption — to protect the small amount of personal information we handle.
Your rights (US visitors)
| Right | What it means on PawElden |
|---|---|
| Know / access | Ask what personal information we hold about you — in practice, this will be your contact messages, if you have written to us |
| Delete | Ask us to delete personal information we hold, such as your contact emails |
| Opt out of sale or sharing | We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — you can still ask us to confirm this in writing |
| Non-discrimination | We will not reduce the service you receive because you exercised a privacy right |
Do Not Track (CalOPPA-style disclosure). This site does not track visitors across third-party websites, so browser Do Not Track signals have little to act on here. At MVP effort level, we keep first-party tracking to aggregate analytics and rely on third-party analytics and affiliate services to handle such signals according to their own policies; we will revisit this handling as the site grows.
How to exercise a right. Email hello@pawelden.com with the subject line “Privacy request.” We aim to respond within 45 days, consistent with CCPA timelines.
Data retention. We keep contact emails only as long as needed to handle your request and keep a basic record of our reply, then delete them; analytics data is retained in aggregate form under the analytics provider's standard retention settings.
Third parties we rely on
| Third party | Role | Their data practices |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics provider | Aggregate traffic measurement | Governed by the provider's own privacy policy |
| Affiliate networks and retailers | Commission attribution and order processing after you leave our site | Governed by their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow an outbound link |
We do not otherwise share personal information except where required by law.
Children's privacy
PawElden is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We post any change on this page with a new effective date, and material changes are summarized at the top of the page. The last-reviewed date in the page header always reflects the current version.
