Affiliate Disclosure

The short version

PawElden is a free, independent education site, and affiliate commissions are how it pays its own bills. Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you click one and then buy something, the retailer pays us a small commission. In most cases this does not change the price you pay.

PawElden is a participant in the Amazon Associates program. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

What affiliate links mean here

• We participate in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates program, and we may join similar retailer programs over time. This page covers all of them.
• A commission is paid by the retailer out of its own margin. You are not paying us separately, and clicking a link does not commit you to anything.
• Affiliate links never change what a guide says. They change how the site keeps running.

Commissions never influence verdict tiers

This is the part we would like you to hold us to:

• Verdict tiers are set by evidence review first. A product is only considered within a tier that has already passed evidence review. A commission can put a product in the spotlight inside the ✅ Works tier; it cannot move a product into a stronger tier, and it cannot rescue a weak one from the 🤔 Uncertain or 🚫 Don't Waste Money tiers.
• Free alternatives are always given in the 🚫 Don't Waste Money tier. When we advise skipping a product category, we point to what to do instead — usually at no cost.
• Affiliate links appear only in the ✅ Works tier, with a maximum of 2 product mentions per guide, and the FTC disclosure module sits above the first mention. These mechanics are fixed in our Editorial Policy, not negotiated page by page.

Where you will see disclosure

Every guide that contains an affiliate link carries a disclosure module above the first mention. This page is the complete, standing version of that disclosure.

What we do not do

• We do not accept payment in exchange for a specific verdict or a specific tier placement.
• We do not feature a product simply because its program pays more; within the ✅ Works tier, picks follow the evidence and practical fit.
• We do not hide the relationship: if a link earns a commission, the disclosure module is on the page before you reach it.
